FAR-SIGHT
As the world goes through what one may call the most transformative period in recent history, it becomes important to acknowledge the role that speculation can play in navigating through moments of unrest and discord, and envision futures that are ecologically sustainable, inclusive, and egalitarian. The notion of problem-solving extends beyond the problems of today– design briefs or wicked problems alike, to cosmotechnics and looking beyond a human-centred understanding of design.
The far-sight track also highlights the notion of design as a tool for discourse, creating artefacts that act as provocations that challenge norms and conventions, push boundaries, and facilitate dialogues on the nature and purpose of design practice in the contemporary world.
