OVERSIGHT
If a line of sight is understood to be an imaginary line from the eye to a perceived object, then to map the line of oversight is to trace no line at all. With our collective visions deforming into transient, ever-changing trajectories of perception, we may have inadvertently omitted matters of importance.
The pandemic has visibly put some of these very matters in sharp focus. By virtue of consciously looking at the past and its consequential effect on the present, it has become imperative to together address the glaring oversights facing us. Global themes in the field of design have had their own peculiar blind spots. How can we learn to perceive failures so as to better anticipate the impact of our choices?
